Built in manufacturing. Not trained on it.
NX Advisory Group is the consulting practice of Nick Stephens — 13 years in manufacturing operations, zero years in PowerPoint-first consulting.
The work started on the floor at Corning Inc., progressed through process development and operations leadership, and continued at Truck-Lite where the focus shifted to building the systems — training infrastructure, workforce intelligence, and production automation — that make operations run without depending on heroics or institutional memory.
That progression from operator to systems architect is intentional. Every engagement starts with the question that matters: how does work actually happen here, and where does it break? The answer is never the same as what the org chart suggests.

Current Work
Serving as Operations Excellence Manager across multiple manufacturing sites effective June 2026, with responsibility for production intelligence infrastructure, workforce systems, and process automation. The consulting practice operates alongside this role — engagements are scoped to match available capacity.
What This Practice Is Not
No retainers. No discovery phases that last three months. No deliverables that require a consultant to interpret. The work produces systems and frameworks your team can operate independently the day the engagement ends.
If the problem fits, there will be a clear scope, a fixed deliverable, and a defined end date.
